Terms of Service
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These terms govern your use of Settled, a read-only Shopify app that explains your Shopify Payments payouts visually and exports accounting-ready summaries. By installing Settled you agree to them.
1. What Settled is
Settled is a data formatting and visualization tool. It reads the payout, balance and order data you already have in Shopify, then presents it clearly: payout dates, hold and reserve explanations, and reconciliation exports.
Settled is not an accounting firm, tax advisor or financial institution, and nothing it shows or exports is tax, accounting or financial advice. The figures are reformatted versions of your own Shopify data — you remain responsible for the numbers you report and should verify them against your Shopify and bank records before filing anything.
2. Your account
There is no separate Settled account to create. You install the app from your Shopify admin, and your Shopify store is your account. Installing means you authorize Settled to read the data described in our Privacy Policy through Shopify's official APIs, on a strictly read-only basis.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use Settled only for your own legitimate business, and not to:
- misuse the app, interfere with it, or probe its systems;
- attempt to access another merchant's data;
- reverse engineer, resell or white-label the app without written permission; or
- use Settled in violation of any law or of Shopify's own terms.
Because Settled is read-only on Shopify, it cannot modify your store — but abuse of the app itself is grounds for suspension.
4. Fees & billing
Paid plans are billed through Shopify's app billing, so charges appear on the Shopify invoice you already receive. Plan prices are shown on our pricing section.
- Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial; you are not charged unless you continue past it.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel.
- You cancel by uninstalling the app (or declining the charge in Shopify admin) — cancellation is handled by Shopify's billing, per Shopify's own app billing terms.
5. Termination & data deletion
You can stop using Settled at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. When you uninstall:
- your access token is revoked and syncing stops immediately;
- your stored data is deleted — Shopify also sends a
shop/redactrequest 48 hours after uninstall, which wipes anything remaining (see the Privacy Policy); and - billing stops per Shopify's app billing rules.
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, with notice where practical.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
Settled is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that payout predictions will always be accurate to the day, that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every export will match your bank statement without review. Payout timing ultimately depends on Shopify Payments and your bank, which are outside our control.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Settled and its makers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost revenue, or accounting or tax errors — arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to Settled is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
This applies to the fullest extent allowed by the laws of your jurisdiction; where liability cannot be limited, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use Settled after a change means you accept the updated terms.
