Getting started
Installing Settled
Install Settled from the Shopify App Store listing, or from your Shopify admin via Apps → Shopify App Store. You'll be asked to approve read-only permissions — Settled can see your payouts and orders, and can never change your store. Installation takes about two minutes; there's nothing to configure before the first sync.
The first sync
Right after you install, Settled pulls your recent Shopify Payments payouts, balance transactions and disputes in the background. Small stores see data within a minute or two; stores with a long payout history can take a little longer. You only need to do this once — after that, new payouts sync automatically.
Payout arrival date predictions get smarter over time: after your first two payouts have landed, Settled has learned your bank's clearing pattern and predictions are typically accurate to the day.
Uninstalling
Uninstall from Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels. Uninstalling stops billing (per Shopify's app billing rules), revokes Settled's access immediately, and deletes your data — Shopify also sends a final deletion request 48 hours later. See the Privacy Policy for the full retention details.
Common questions
A payout isn't showing in Settled
Check these in order:
- It's very recent. New payouts can take a short while to appear; the next automatic sync picks them up.
- It's still pending in Shopify. Settled shows a payout once Shopify Payments has created it. Sales still inside a pay period aren't a payout yet — they're part of an upcoming one.
- You just installed. The first sync may still be running; give it a few minutes and refresh.
- Still missing? Email brandonta1035@gmail.com with the payout date and amount and we'll trace it.
Settled shows a reserve or hold
A hold flag means Shopify Payments is keeping back part of a payout — most commonly a rolling reserve, a dispute/chargeback deduction, or the first-payout delay on a newer store. Open the payout in Settled for the plain-English explanation and what typically makes it release. The reserve & hold glossary defines each term, and the payout timing guide explains the timing side. Note: Settled explains holds — it can't release them; that's between you and Shopify.
What export formats are supported?
Every payout can be exported as a CSV broken down into sales, refunds, fees, adjustments and net. Growth and Scale plans also export formatted for QuickBooks and Xero (including QuickBooks UK and Xero UK for GBP stores). The reconciliation checklist walks through matching a payout to your bank statement and books step by step.
Is my data safe?
Settled is read-only on Shopify and stores order numbers only — never customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses. Traffic is encrypted in transit and your access token is encrypted at rest. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
